Halloween Banquette Preparations

My friend Lydia and I are preparing for a Halloween Banquette. We've been making decorations on the weekends and deciding what we will be cooking.
Sat I went to a yard sale and found this clock with glass dome for $3.
The doll parts I bought a few years ago, baby Patsy, may she rest in peaces.
Baby Patsy's eyes are sufficiently creepy for a dinner party so I took the clock apart and spray painted the base black then assembled everything below.
I'm not completely happy with it though, I plan to do a little bit of tweaking to it. Add some black velvet and rearrange everything.
Lydia had found a bunch of wooden candlesticks at a yard sale and we painted all of them black yesterday as well.

We plan to have lots of candles lit for this dinner.
Last weekend we made paper mache bones and we painted them this weekend.
We also got our spider egg sacks done...

We altered some old cracked giant Christmas candles by spray painting the outside matte black and then lighting them and dripping red wax down the sides...
Last weekend I got an oval shaped urn with a fruit bouquet in it from the thrift store and Lydia and I painted the whole thing black, fruit and all. We cut down a few tree branches and painted them black as well. This is our centerpiece.

A little moss added here and there...

And then lots of spider webs and spiders!
We've still got lots of spiders to add to the webbing and we're going to have them hanging down by single threads as well.
There will be more decor to come next weekend!

It's a new year & I'm excited about Halloween!

I've been so out of the Halloween spirit for so long.
I think that is what working for a large Halloween chain store will do to you.
It took something I loved and sucked all the fun out of it.
But this year I am thankfully unattached to that shop and I can feel the Halloween spirit returning.
I've got the urge to create art, make a haunted house, and bake creepy food. :)
Just thought I would share some Marie Antoinette atc's I made this past weekend...

I'm working on some more Halloween goodies that I hope to share soon.
Also I'm hosting a Halloween Charm swap on my Vintiquities Workshop blog...
Come on over and sign up!

And I'm linking up to The Graphics Fairy brag Monday as I found those wonderful wings over at her blog.
 Happy Fall Y'all!

Happy Halloween!

This year has been so busy I haven't had much time to think about, or plan for, Halloween. It's a sad state of affairs I tell you. I've been so focused on my family and getting my art studio built that I haven't even had time for art. That is all going to change soon though. I want to wish everyone a very Happy Halloween. Hope you have fun today!

The Creative Connection Event!

I really need to attend this event. I have so many things I want to learn about applying your creativity into your business and making your business about your creativity. I want to go to meet new people, to learn, and to be inspired to take my artwork to the next level.
I can't get there without help and I just learned that they are giving away 2 tickets and a hotel stay, these paid for would make it possible for me to go instead of just sitting at home watching the fun online and never getting to participate.
Maybe I will be lucky! Who knows, it could happen.

Pumpkin Carving Tutorial From the Master!

Most of us who love Halloween are familiar with the Pumkin Carving Master  Ray Villafane.
But even though I have seen his work I didn't know that he has a pumkin carving tutorial on his blog.
So go check it out, gather your tools and fail miserably as I'm sure I will, LOL but it will be fun to try!

Updated artwork! Finished!

I finished up this canvas that I posted last week. I painted their clothes and I think that made a lot of difference. It feels finished now. And they are much cuter!
Can you feel it? It's almost October, a chill is in the air and my favorite time of year is almost here.
I feel happy inside.
Thanks for visiting!

Tricky Three Halloween Collage on Canvas

Started this collage last night at about 9pm, went to bed about 11:30. Their hats turned out good I think and I like the collage background. I think I will add a painted wardrobe for them though. But here it is as of now.
Hope you have a great weekend!
If you have a second I would really appreciate your vote!

Bewitching Travel Case! & VOTE 4 ME! PLEASE!

I finally finished this Bewitching travel case. It's been a long time in the unfinished pile of things. I had some time to work on it this weekend and am happy with the way it turned out.
Every witch needs a place to put her spell book, her most recent potion, and a few key ingredients.
I love the Tattered Angels Halloween stamps.
